Ashlyn and Alyssa Practicing Photography

Ashlyn took this cute picture of Ava just waking up.

Ashlyn took this picture of the bear swimming at the zoo. We had never seen the bears swim before.

Momma and Ava checking out the tortoise.

Whose feet are these? Alyssa took this picture of Ashlyn's feet. Question: How can my girls almost always put their shoes on the wrong feet?

You're Never too Old to Hunt Easter Eggs

Granddaddy's smooth head didn't break the egg.

Jonathan getting hit with his fourth confetti egg. "Why is everybody always pickin' on me?"

We have a family tradition that if you want to eat Easter candy, you must hunt the Easter candy. Also, you can 't just take any candy, you have to find the candy labeled for you. This year we had to hunt fast because it was actually a warm day. The first nice Easter Sunday in I don't know how many years.

The Girls' First Trip to Palo Duro Canyon

Cooling our feet in the creek. I don't really know why we used to like "swimming" is this. I guess we had to be pretty hot or maybe just little kids who didn't care.
Independent Ava had to have her own big chair and feed herself which she's pretty good at. Blaine grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, and everyone else brought the sides. The food turned out really good. Plus, there weren't any flies out yet.

Our cousins, Coralynn and Adelie, met us at the canyon, along with mema, Uncle Billy, Aunt Debbie, Brad and Ambra and Melissa. Brad has to come along just to tease Ashlyn.

On April 3rd, Good Friday, we took a big family day trip to Palo Duro Canyon. Jonathan, Helen and Sam were in town for Easter weekend, so it was a great way to spend time together. My girls favorite thing to do was make mud pies. I guess we could do that at home, but it just isn't the same.
